Reminder about today’s game

So their employees can spend the day with their families, several of our Browns Backers bars will be closed today. However, you can still catch the game at our Hard Times Cafe site in Manassas and our former viewing site Neighbor’s Restaurant in Vienna has confirmed that they’ll be open and showing the Browns Chargers game. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and that Santa comes a day early and brings us a win! Go Browns!

Toys For Tots raffle today!

While you don’t have to be present to win, you should still come on out to cheer on the Browns and see if you won one of this year’s fantastic raffle prizes. You can see all of this year’s prizes by clicking here.

And remember, all the money raised goes to Toys For Tots, so no matter who wins, kids back home in Northeast Ohio and in here in our adopted city will have a brighter Christmas thanks to the DC Browns Backers!

World Series watch party tonight!

Join your fellow Clevelanders tonight at RFD Washington to watch the Indians take on the Cubs in Game 3 of the World Series! We’ll have the backroom all to ourselves, just like for Browns games, and there will be food and drink specials all night long.

Browns vs the Fish

Okay DC Browns Backers, our boys are off to sunny south Florida to play the Dolphins. We will have Cody Kessler at QB, so it’s a chance for him to step up and claim the job permanently. The last time we had a QB with a name that started with K, had an S in the middle, and ended with an R, he turned out to be pretty good, so who knows? You gotta show up at your favorite viewing site and find out!

Remember, our memberships are still only $20 and include an embroidered patch with our club logo on it. Memberships are the life blood of our club. More importantly, it helps with our ultimate goal of raising money for Toys for Tots. Due to low overhead and their volunteer staff of Marine Reserves, 97 cents of every dollar goes to buys Christmas gifts for kids who otherwise might not have a Christmas. Regardless of the results on the field, DC Area Browns Backers always come through for the kids!

We have halftime trivia, we have the Browns vs the Fish, and we have the best fans in football!

Rivalry Week!

It’s Rivalry Week as we take on the Ravens in our home opener. We had 310 fans show up at our 4 viewing sites last week, so let’s keep it going. Nearly 20% bought their yearly membership.

This week we’ll have McCown at QB and 17 rookies trying to get us our first win. Let’s get behind the kids and behind coach Hue Jackson and keep the faith they are finally on the right path. We hope to see you Sunday! Let’s go Browns!!

Check out this year’s membership gift and t-shirt!

Okay DC Area Browns Backers, we heard your voices. You said you wanted something different as your premium gift with your paid membership. You are tired of the coffee mugs, rocks glasses, pint glasses, beer mugs, soup bowls etc, etc. So this year with your paid membership, you will receive…….an embroidered patch with our logo on it! As you can see, I had mine sewn onto my Jim Brown jersey, and it looks great!

Our 2016 t-shirts are in! On the front you’ll find our logo and on the back—We Bark Together! They will be available at all four of viewing locations. This year our t-shirts are only available in long sleeve, but are still only $20.

Save the date! Saturday, October 1st.
Time: Noon until 7pm
Place: Buckeye + Bear
We will start with Ohio State vs Rutgers at noon. There will be drink and food specials, 50/50 raffle, other raffle prizes and some free giveaways! The raffle will be held about 5pm and we are working to have a VIP from the Browns to stop by, so stay tuned! Let’s go Browns, beat the Redskins!

WEEK 1 – Browns vs Eagles

It’s a new era and the Browns have a young, exciting team. Make your way to your favorite viewing site and support the kids! Not only the kids that are going to turn around our Browns, but the kids that rely on us through our Toys For Tots campaign by renewing your yearly membership! On behalf of our leadership, we look forward to seeing you all on Sunday!

From Buckeye + Bear near Dupont Circle, RFD in Chinatown, out to Tysons Biergarten and on to Hard Times Cafe in Manassas, HERE WE GO BROWNIES! HERE WE GO!

Join us to kickoff the 2016 at our newest viewing site—Tysons Biergarten!

It’s time to get the band back together!

Okay DC Browns Backers, we are less than a month away from the 2016 Season! Here’s what’s new for this year:

Due to the cost of the NFL package going from $3000 TO $5000, the folks at Paddy Barry’s in Tysons Corner chose not to renew. They did not give us a lot of notice, but we were still able to come up with a new location we think you are gonna like.

Tysons Biergarten

Tysons Biergarten (TysonsBiergarten.com) proprietor Matt Rofougaran is thrilled to be hosting the Browns Backers in NOVA. We are going to have the 3rd floor all to ourselves, and Matt is in the process of adding a projection screen TV to the 3rd floor. He will have it installed in time for week 1. It is just steps from the Silver Line Greensboro Station. There is also a parking garage a block away, and the Biergarten validates for free parking. Site Coordinator Dora Tann looks forward to seeing you at the Biergarten! Dont forget, we still have The Hard Times Cafe in Manassas, with Site Coordinator Neil Angelotti, as well.

Buckeye + Bear

We have also added a 2nd location in DC! Buckeye + Bear (Buckeyebear.com) at 1730 M St NW, just a block or two from Dupont Circle. Proprietor Ryan Seelbach is a Cleveland native (University School). He is excited to be part of the DC Browns Backers. If you have had trouble getting a seat at RFD, you now can check out Buckeye and Bear. Ryan will serve as his own Site Coordinator, although we are looking for someone to help out. So if you are interested, let me know. PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE STILL AT RFD. We are not dropping them as a viewing site, we are simply adding another location for our rabid fan base.
So that is now a total of 4 locations!

We continue to hold the line with an affordable $20 membership fee. We do have a NEW premium gift with your paid membership and it is NOT a rocks glass, Pint glass, Beer Mug, Coffee Mug, Soup Bowl, etc, etc, etc. So what is it?? Stay tuned! We will reveal the new premium gift, as well as the new T-Shirt design, during Labor Day weekend.

So we have new locations, old locations. We have halftime trivia, and as usual, our Charity Raffle in December with GREAT PRIZES. Last year, due to your generosity, we raised $3,000 for Toys For Tots, and we look forward to giving back to the community again this year.

Your Club Leadership has been working hard this offseason to bring you another great year of rooting for our beloved Browns. The rest is up to them!
